EIB Grenelle

In the heart of the 7th arrondissement, just minutes away from Les Invalides, EIB Grenelle private school opened its doors in September 2021. The school welcomes pupils from Nursery up to Year 6 (Maternelle to CM2).

EIB Grenelle follows the programmes of the Ministry of National Education while offering a fully bilingual teaching programme, with 50% of classes in English and 50% in French.  This approach combines the best of both worlds, integrating the very structured French approach with the more hands-on methods of the English system.

Within our international bilingual school, EIB Grenelle works to create a caring and family oriented atmosphere, where children feel supported and confident to blossom and flourish. The teaching staff comes from various backgrounds and understands the specific needs of expatriate families.

Welcome to EIB Grenelle

Dear Parents, dear Students,

As the latest member of EIB Paris, our school located at 176, rue Grenelle in the 7th district of Paris has been designed to welcome children with many different backgrounds.

EIB Grenelle is following in the footsteps of its big sisters and is committed to providing excellence combined with a caring approach in a multicultural environment that promotes fulfilment and success for each student.

Classes are taught in accordance with the objectives, programmes and methods as defined by the French Ministry of Education.

Programmes have been designed to ensure that all classes are taught 50 percent in English and 50 percent in French. Classes are held in French and English on a rotating daily schedule.

In today's world, where translation platforms are multiplying, knowing how to read, write and count is no longer enough. We must now be able to develop our psychosocial skills in terms of openness and tolerance. As a result, our educational project is based on multilingualism, with English and French taught on an equal basis and Chinese taught two hours a week (from CE2).

Our teaching team, which consists of native teachers, is committed to meeting the individual needs of each student and providing tailored instruction using varied and complementary teaching methods.

At the end of their academic experience, our students will become budding citizens who can communicate, understand the world, and take on current and future challenges.

Welcome to EIB Grenelle!

Emilie Chaffaud, Head of School

A bilingual education in the centre of Paris

EIB private school is a pioneer in bilingual education, recognised nationwide for its academic excellence (100% success in the Brevet des Collèges and the Baccalauréat, 96% of which with honours).

Our educational principles are based on empathy and high standards, and we believe in an active learning approach, placing the child at the heart of the learning process. To encourage a sense of belonging and respect among our students, all EIB students wear a uniform.

Our academic mission

EIB schools are dedicated to developing global citizens and to bringing people and nations closer together through bilingual education and an openness to other cultures.

Our academic mission is based on three key promises:

1. Immerse children, from preschool, equally in English and French, with half of the weekly schedule taught in English..

2. Our educational mission is based on multilingualism, and is defined by the French Academic Curriculum. Though founded  in the French National Curriculum, our pedagogical approach is enriched by Anglo-Saxon teaching methods, such as project-based learning and experimentation. By the end of elementary school, our students will have acquired all of the elements of the official curriculum of the French Ministry of Education, whilst having done so in both English and French, our two languages of instruction.

The beauty of our approach is exemplified in that our students will finish their primary journey being perfectly bilingual and fully capable of pursuing either a French or English academic program of their choice. Chinese is also taught for 2 hours per week starting in Year 4.

3. Nurture our students in small classes: thanks to a student-to-teacher ratio that is lower than the average French school. Our students will enjoy personalised support in class, which will allow our teaching teams to meet the needs of all students, ensuring they acquire the concepts and skills defined in the programme.

Further study within the EIB Group

After completing primary school, students at EIB Grenelle will be able to continue their studies at one of the two middle schools within the EIB Group: EIB College Monceau in Parc Monceau in the 8th Arrondissement or EIB de la Jonchère Middle School in the Yvelines region, 30 minutes west of central Paris.
